I create art to explore mysteries shrouding the dawning of existence. This idea is surrounded by scientific hypotheses and theorization on the how, what, why and when of the event. These secularized notions do not play a major role in my creative process, however, inspiration does begin with delving into mythic lore which relates to both the inception of the cosmos and the ritualistic practice relating to contemplation on the origin of existence. It is through the creative impulse and analytical studies; I contemplate the mystery of existence in relation to the transcendent nature of the universe. I often portray a demiurgic view point of over-looking a surface or an adoration of an object within my artwork(s). In my process, I use the life-giving element of water to create marks upon the printing matrix through a chemical reaction involving liquefied rosin. These marks create an organic nebulous flow which hints towards a topographical observation of a heavenly body or primordial terrain. The goal behind the exploration is to contemplate and present an examination of origins, ranging from the origins of the universe down to consciousness. My work offers an investigation into an embodiment of the longing and curiosity human existence has had regarding the transcendental mysteries of the universe.
